A commitment to promote and support tactile publishing by stimulating the creation, production and dissemination of tactile illustrated books throughout the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These are the important goals that, since 2011, the year “Tocca a te!” was born, have fueled the National Illustrated Tactile Publishing Competition promoted and organized by the National Federation of Institutions for the Blind<\/strong>, the Robert Hollman Foundation <\/strong>and, for this eighth edition, the Seraphic Institute for the Deaf and Blind in Assisi.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

And it is precisely in the Umbrian city, on April 18 and 19, 2026<\/strong>, that the award ceremonies for the most beautiful albums will be held, all the works in the competition will be exhibited and the selection of the 5 Italian titles that will “fly” to Prague (Czech Republic) in the<\/strong> fall for the<\/strong> 17th International Typhlo & Tactus Competition from October 28-30<\/strong> will be announced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The call for entries for the “Tocca a te!”, now in its eighth edition, has recently been published on the website of the Pro Blind Federation<\/a>: the sketches of the works nominated for the competition must be received by March 30, 2026 at the headquarters of the Pro Blind Federation in Rome, respecting all the indicated modalities that will be taken into consideration by the two juries (senior and youth) composed of experts, typhlologists, professionals, readers with visual impairment and institutional representatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Five prizes will be awarded: best Italian book<\/strong>; best artist’s book<\/strong> (Mauro L. Evangelista prize); best book Young Jury<\/strong> (Uici Regional Council Umbria prize); best educational book<\/strong> and best book “First Books” section<\/strong> (Robert Hollman Foundation prize).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

NEW SPECIAL MENTION “EDITABLE BOOK”<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, among the seven special mentions included in the Competition is a new feature: the “Editable Book” mention, promoted by the Robert Hollman Foundation and the University of Bologna.<\/strong> The intent is to instill additional sensitivity in authors so that their works can also meet the path of reproducibility to be more easily distributed in many more copies, reaching more children and professionals who work with them and for them. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
