{"id":4325,"date":"2023-12-13T13:20:00","date_gmt":"2023-12-13T12:20:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/fondazioneroberthollman.it\/open-enrollment-at-new-training-path-global-approach-to-child-with-visual-disability-and-his-family\/"},"modified":"2025-10-28T13:40:12","modified_gmt":"2025-10-28T12:40:12","slug":"open-enrollment-at-new-training-path-global-approach-to-child-with-visual-disability-and-his-family","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fondazioneroberthollman.it\/en\/open-enrollment-at-new-training-path-global-approach-to-child-with-visual-disability-and-his-family\/","title":{"rendered":"Ongoing training proposal &#8220;The comprehensive approach to the child with visual impairment and his family&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The <strong>theoretical, experiential and multidisciplinary training course &#8220;The Comprehensive Approach to the Child with Visual Impairment and His Family&#8221;<\/strong> sponsored and implemented by the Robert Hollman Foundation, in collaboration with Briefing Studio, began last Jan. 12 for more than 30 participants.  <\/p>\n\n<p>The proposal continues<strong> <\/strong>until spring and is aimed at <strong>health and social care professionals<\/strong> (who will be awarded CME credits), <strong>teachers, educators, readers, communication assistants, typhlologists, students<\/strong> and all professionals interested in the topic of visual impairment in developmental age.<\/p>\n\n<p>Health and social care professionals who will be <strong>granted 46.5 CME credits<\/strong> (after attending at least 90 percent of the training time) are psychologists and psychotherapists; orthoptists and ophthalmology assistants; speech therapists; physical therapists; developmental neuro- and psychomotor therapists; occupational therapists; professional educators; nurses; ophthalmologists; pediatricians; psychotherapist physicians; child neuropsychiatrists; and physiatrists.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>The course consists of a total of 27 online and 6 in-person training hours<\/strong>, is curated and taught all by professionals working within the Robert Hollman Foundation, and consists of five theoretical sessions divided between Friday afternoon and Saturday morning on the following topics: global approach and psychological aspects; orthoptic assessment and visual function; neurovisual rehabilitative activity; educational activity and in music; and speech therapy activity.<\/p>\n\n<p>In March, the final training day will be held in-person at one of the Foundation&#8217;s two Centers (of the participants&#8217; choice) to <strong>experience a simulation training experience in visual deprivation led by a multidisciplinary team<\/strong>.
