The Twinning between the cities of Padua and Oxford turns five years old with a program of initiatives open to all, which will animate the City of the Saint from April 17 until April 29, <\/strong>under the sign of mutual knowledge and sharing of culture, music, art, values and friendship. Also at the center is an important goal of solidarity with its strong message of welcoming everyone: support for the inclusive Treasure Tree<\/a> Municipal Park<\/strong>, which is being built, barrier-free, in Padua at the Lower So\u010da on a 9,000-square-meter green space.<\/p>\n\n

The events for the fifth year of twinning are promoted and implemented by the Oxford Padua<\/a>Link<\/strong> Association together with the City of Padua<\/strong> and with the collaboration of the Padua Rotary Club<\/strong> and the Robert Hollman Foundation<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n

Honoring the festive days with their presence will be \n Lubna Arshad<\/u>\n<\/strong>, mayor of Oxford (Lord Mayor), Chewe Munkonge<\/u><\/strong>, vice president of the Oxford City Council, and \n Anna Proudfoot<\/u>\n<\/strong>, president of the Oxford Padua Link Association.<\/p>\n\n

The program of initiatives begins with the exhibition “Flowing Water<\/em><\/strong>” on display at Space 35 of the Altinate San Gaetano Cultural Center from April 17 to 29 (free admission from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., opening Wednesday, April 17, at 5 p.m.): works by Diana Bell<\/strong> e Hannah Gauntlett<\/strong>, two internationally prominent artists, evoke the flow of water, the symbol of life par excellence and metaphorically the flow of thoughts and ideas, which ideally unites the two cities dispensers of culture, ideas, innovation.<\/p>\n\n

Highlight of the fifth anniversary of the Twinning will be the concert of Italian and English choirs “Padova&Oxford sing together<\/em>” <\/strong>on Sunday, April 21 at 6 p.m. at Pollini Auditorium<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

Thanks to the generous cooperation of the Rotary Club of Padua<\/strong>, which recently celebrated the milestone of its 75th anniversary of its activities in favor of the human, social and cultural growth of our city, on the prestigious stage of the Pollini Auditorium will perform a large lineup of singers from Padua’s choirs Blubord\u00f2&ChorItaly<\/strong> and of the English ones Man Choir<\/strong> and East Oxford Community Choir<\/strong>, (there are about 40 people coming from Oxford) with a repertoire of pop, folk and contemporary music. A taste of the concert can be had as early as Saturday afternoon, April 20: they will in fact perform all together from 4 p.m. on the steps of Palazzo Moroni.<\/p>\n\n

Tickets (15 euros plus presale fee) are available <\/strong>on the LiveTicket<\/a>platform, and remaining tickets will be sold one hour before the event at the Pollini box office.<\/p>\n\n
