The neuropsychiatric examination aims to investigate neuro-ophthalmological and neuropsychiatric aspects. It is performed in the presence of the parents and the psychologist, together with the therapist, both through the assessment of the child’s psychomotor development and the performance of a comprehensive neurological examination based on the age of the child. Special attention is paid to visual functioning in collaboration with the orthoptist and ophthalmologist, investigating any implications for the development of different skills. From what emerges, possible proposals in the diagnostic field and possible rehabilitation pathways are shared with the team of professionals.
At the conclusion of the examination, the specialist listens to the parents’ questions, and will be available for an exchange of information with the professionals of local facilities.
