In October, the Cannero Center had two significant opportunities to get involved in the VCO territory and, through events and workshops, was able to bring adults and children closer to the world of blindness and low vision, reaffirming its commitment to raising awareness about visual impairment and inclusion.
On the afternoon of Sunday, Oct. 1, on the Pallanza lakefront at villa Giulia, FRH workers participated again this year in the“Verbania city of children” event with some training proposals dedicated to parents, teachers, educators and operators.
The Foundation offered multisensory games and activities that were successful among children and adults: “Guess the Object” using touch, a visual-tactile trail, a tactile picture book reading aloud, visual-tactile Twister and olfactory Memory games.
On Sunday, October 8, however, the Foundation participated in the National Day of Families at the Museum of the Landscape in Pallanza, where it had the opportunity to introduce the theme of visual impairment and inclusion with the reading of two tactile picture books: Soffio di vento by Elisa Lodolo, published by the National Federation of Institutions Pro Ciechi, and Wikki – different from everyone but special like everyone, created by the Robert Hollman Foundation and which tells children about the importance of feeling unique and special.
