The support to the family is given by welcoming, listening and accompanying parents in understanding the world of low vision or blindness, since the growth of a child with visual impairment requires special attention and arrangements that make the parents’ role more crucial and delicate.
By integrating the parents’ observations with those of the multi-disciplinary team, an attempt is made to give parents a comprehensive picture of the child, in order to facilitate the creation of bonds between parents and their child, which is an indispensable condition for children’s harmonious psychic, affective and social development.
